Dash Question

At work yesterday morning, I went out and started my truck to go get my wife at her office. I noticed the "fasten seat belt" light was illuminated so I checked and, sure enough, my seat belt was fastened. Still the light was on. I also noticed the speedometer was moving slower than usual. I turned off the truck and restarted it - the light went out and then came right back on. This continued for about 15 minutes. I turned off the truck at a parking lot and then about five minutes later I restarted it and everything was working normally.

Any ideas? Gremlins? Cold spots? Wassupp?

Re:Dash Question

Same think happened to me. Every once in a while it will do it. There is an earlier post I did on this problem. There is a way to dissable the light. Just haven't got around to it because when I am about to do the fix, the seat belt light goes out like it is supposed to. I will do it the next time the light stays on. >

Re:Dash Question

My truck did the exact same thing yesterday on the way to Grandma's house for Christmas Dinner. Scratched my head, checked the seatbelt plugs by unplugging and replugging and nothing happened. Wrote it off as another future repair (I wasn't gonna let that ruin my special day, it was hard though!), and in about 5 min down the road it went out.

Conditions: 28 degrees outside with low humidity. Pretty cold with not too long of warm up time. The light went out just as the engine warmed up to around 180 degrees.

Just FYI.

Cheers,

Pete
