dash and parking lights blowing fuse?
dash and parking lights blowing fuse?
I keep blowing the #1 fuse on my truck that goes to the parking lights and dash lights. It seems to do it whenever it feels like it. any places to look in the wireing harness that are suspect? places it goes though the body panels? someplace it could be chaffing. It happend to me 4 times this weekend on a 26 hour trip back and forth the NC towing a trailer
It happens with and without the trailer hooked up so i know it's not the trailer.

Sounds to me like a hot wire shorting to ground. Does it happen at random or after you turn something on or off? If it is random I would trace out everything that gets power from fuse 1. You will probably find something loose that touches ground and blows the fuse. If it is something that happens after you switch something on or off, then I would look at that switch.
Mine was doing the same thing recently, I have illuminated running boards on mine that were causing the problem. One thing someone mentioned to me was to check the cab lights for busted covers. Just my .02..

parking lamps fuse
well,i tracked my issue down to the extra driving lamps. i disconnected all 4 of my extra lamps 2 in frt,, 2 in rear, turned on park lamps , no blown fuse, then started to reconnect lamps. the second lamp popped fuse. took the lamp apart, couldnt see anything wrong, re asm lamp, reconnected lamp to park lamp system, and now, no popped fuse...go figure...........
so , as someelse suggested, if popping fuse, u are grounding out somewhere.
