dana 80

silly question,are the dana 8o rear axles the limited slip. if not how do you tell if it is limited.

It was an option, didn't come stock.

Do a burn out and count the black stripes,
2 = limited slip.
1 = open diff.

There is supposed to be a tag attached to one of the diff cover bolts saying if it is, but often these are dropped and not re-attached.

or jack both rear tires off the ground, put tranny in N and turn one tire and if both turn same direction, then you got lsd

find a mud hole, and stomp on it. if you get stuck it's probly an open diff. Someone had posted a pic of an open diff I think in there profile, can't remember who tho. sorry

Get your VIN # and call the dealer. They will have all the info.

There will also be a tag under the hood that will state what diff you have. Also heard about there being one in the glove box, never looked for it though.

Oh ya, forgot about the build sheet.

On a 2001.5, it should be glued to the inside of the glove box.
