Howdy yall, as a noobie on here I thought I would get my first post out of the way. This is my third Dodge with a cummins motor, first dodge pickup truck was a 99 4x4 auto 3/4t quad short bed, then I purchased a 95 dually for a work truck, and lastly the 99 I have now. The cruise control didnt work on a new-to-me 99 3500 4x4 ( I guess I should do my profile pretty quickly) quad cab, cummins with 5sp. The truck has 150K on it. The little cruise control light would come on, but when I hit "set" nothing happened. So off I went to the internet for some help. I did a search on here and started to follow an old thread with lots and lots of wonderful advice. Turns out dodge's infamous "boil over batteries" was the culprit. Battery acid (from drivers side battery) had apparently dripped down onto a vacuum line and eaten through it. Total cost to fix was about six bucks and about 1 1/2 hours of my time.
