I too have a 2001 CTD and have the same cracks and squeeks and I think you will see it is somewhat common.

There are replacement "skins" for your dash that some people like whiles others do not. Use the search feature to see what you can find. My choice is to try to find one from a junk yard or even the dealer if necessary.

As for the squeek, I have tried and tried to determine what it is and can't find it. I guess that is why I tell people I drive a CTD and not a Dodge.

Anyone else have any luck finding the squeek?

It would be interesting to see if all the cracked dashes also have the squeak. Mines a 2001 and dash is in perfect condition (no squeak) however I bought the truck new without air conditioning and I installed it which meant dropping the dash. I'd bet that the loose dash is the cause of the cracking.

I have a 2002 with 100,000 km. The dash is still intact, however it did develop a nasty sqeek that appeared to be from under the dash. After many hours of searching I discovered it was the shifter linkage. Lube it up occasionally and all is well. Hope this helps some of you.

Just use some good quality lube on all moving parts of the shifter linkage. Usually lasts about 6 months then I have to go through the process again.
