Hello All,

My compass is displaying compass degrees as well as the 8 ordinates (N, NW, etc.), but not the outside temperature. The Service Manual calls this the compass/compass mode (as opposed to the compass/temp mode). I think I put it into this mode, but can't for the life of me get it back to compass/temp. I've disconnected the bats overnight, etc. to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to fix it right after I posted -- after over a month -- hold down the US/M key and then press that STEP key for 20-30 secs. I thought I had tried just about everything....

What year is your truck? I have never seen that mode in my 2002. I have a Mopar factory service manual for the 1997 that I had and it states that the compass does not display degrees, just the 8 ordinates.

Model year 1999.

I stumbled on this "compass/compass" mode when trying to set the compass variation. The only mention I have ever seen of is the brief statement in the Service Manual -- but no instructions on how to get into compass/compass or get out of it. It was cool to see the degrees -- but after awhile it became annoying.
