Coil Springs ??

Coil Springs ??
Has anyone ever heard of S-G Enterprises? Jensen and Mitchell Spring co. in Paterson, NJ has these springs for Dodge diesels. This place does nothing but heavy duty stuff like tandem dumps, garbage trucks, etc. I spoke to the guy and he said thats all they will use in the Dodge trucks. He said they are 400# extra capacity variable rate and will jack the truck about an inch. They are 19" overall length. Made in the USA so it's not foreign crap. Just curious to know if anyone ever heard of these springs. Thanks!

Id avoid heavier springs unless you plow or have an aftermarket bumper. The stock coils are harsh enough already! Id try to go for a little more height, good shocks with more travel and softer springs unless you have the weight.
Aside from that, most of your local coil and leaf places are good for this stuff.

Absolutely! I will take Hi-Rez pics of the whole installation. I just hope I don't end up too high and need to get more parts like a drop pitman arm or track bar..So, we'll see how it goes!

Ok, here it goes... The job took 4 hours of some tough labor, cussing, large hammers, large prybars...etc..lol I netted 3" of lift with springs and spacers. I started with 9 1/2" wheelwell clearance and ended up at 12 1/2. I had to disconnect the swaybar and upper link bars to get the axle to drop as far as possible and it still wasn't enough. The shocks are awesome..worth the investment! My shock bolts are worn and they rattle a little. I have to replace those. Tomorrow I will be installing polyurethane sway bar bushings.

Looks like you need to get extended control arms now, that front axle looks further back than it shoud be. Does it sit level, or does the nose sit higher? Can't tell from the pics.
Good mod, though. Especially with that plow.

It sit's just about level. Maybe a tad higher in the front. The axle location looks good. The springs are vertical where they should be and not tilted rearward in any way. I don't think there is enough lift to warrant longer arms...

Hmm, those springs look nice. How much did they cost you? Wonder if they offer softer spring rates or variable rates too.
Don thuren makes some really nice 3-5" lift control arms. Really stout and nicely welded. Ill try to take some pics of mine before install.
Nice paint job by the way, looks just like mine except for the metallic red.
Oh yeah, dont forget to drop the plow when you park, its a killer on the springs.

i might have to try it when i get the cash, but i'll just get the springs not the spacers. Mainly because i like having the rear a little taller because then my truck rides almost level loaded, my front bumper sags the front so bad that the difference between the fenderwell spacing on the front to rear is over 7 inches. So yeah my headlights point straight at the ground. I would change the adjustment, but i'm hoping to get different springs so i'll just leave them alone until after i get the springs. That makes your tires look tiny now though, know the next mod. lol.
