Search ebay, call your Dodge dealer, they are verified and readily available. You can get them either way too. Power/heated, or no power/no heat.

take a look at the pic the third gen power mirrors dont have a wire coming out of them the plug is mounted right on the mounting base. And that pic of the other ones show a wire coming out of it. But I understand why you would be skeptical, I will let you know when mine arrrive if they are right. They should be here on tuesday.

HAH! Lordy you're too funny. Ahhh I needed a good laugh. Haha... I think you almost deserve a gold star safety pinned to your t-shirt. Though you lost a considerable amount of points with your last comment. Such asinine remarks should generally not follow half-witted non-contributional mouthings. Would have been easier and made to look less the fool to just say "I don't like this, and don't have anything better to do."

Now to the rest of you who helped, I am hugely appreciative. Was very helpful. Especially seeing as how I'm not like Valv here who must go around and memorize the exact kind of mirrors every model generation has and does not have, and is angered by someone asking such OBVIOUS questions that everybody undoubtedly knows.

Again, thank YALL very much.

Ram4sam, are you actually 100% certain these are for the 2nd gen ram, power/heated ? I have yet to get a reply from Kool-vue re: this. Those part #'s you list are cataloged under 2002-2005 3500 Dodge Ram. The 2002 is a different truck than the 2003-2005 models. The price is good, but I think they are for the 3rd gen 2500/3500. Let us know if you find out anything. Kurt

Kurt, I do not have a set yet. Read the TDR thread...

http://www.turbodieselregister.com/f...wr-heated.html

There are two that have received but not mounted them, one plugged them in only and they worked fine, another eyeballed the mount and said they will fit. I am also waiting for an install to be sure. Go to the autopartswarehouse.com or car-stuff.com, they both have them. Those are the correct part numbers, do a search using your model and year, mirrors, then Kool-Vue, you should find the numbers, #dg49er-driver door and #dg49el-pass door. I fully expect them to fit and both vendors surely would allow a return if they don't fit.

From what I've read, to make a set of towing mirrors for 2nd gen trucks using the 3rd gen mirrors. You must use the heated mirror from a second gen, guts & all wiring etc., but extend the wire to make it longer. You take the 3rd gen glass out, put the second gen in. Then change the base from the 3rd gen mount to your second gen base.

I'm pretty sure these are right when I talked to them on the phone they said they were. I orederd them they'll be here tuesday, So i'll let you know. But if you look at the pic I posted of them you can see the wiring coming out with a plug on the end. The third gen ones plug is right at the mounting base. The part numbers are dg49el and dg49er when I look them up they say 99-02 trucks.

Yeah thats the way I understand it as well. But it will cost 4-$$500 to do it like that. I found a set of manual tow mirrors for less than $200 Mopar new in the box. That made the decision for me.
