CD Player work ethic

My radio has a cassette and CD player. Cassette works ok and the CD works when it wants to. Most times it works if a cd is in the slot when the truck is started. If you change to a new one it displays "Error"
Anyone figured out this problem yet?

No, I thought that may be it, but no difference with a manufatured disk.

Re:CD Player work ethic

If it's the CD player that came with the Infinity option like I had on my truck it's probeble the switch that the CD triggers when it is put into the player. You should be able to take the radio apart and clean the switch, it gets alot of dust and dirt in it. :

I replaced my radio with a new unit from Crutchfield, good place to deal with. They send you everything yo need to install the new unit and also have a 1-800# you can call if you have a problem. 8)

Good Luck

Re:CD Player work ethic

My factory one has been replaced twice under warranty-think the 3rd one is worse than the factory one! > Same sounding deal as yours-although mine seems to like CDR's better than real CDs-sometimes a brand new one from the store will not play. Frustrates me to no end......thank God for the 12 month Mopar parts warranty though. Mine will be getting replaced one more time.......when I pull it from the dash for an aftermarket replacement. My brothers can then fight over the new one to see who gets it-should be good for a few minutes' entertainment anyhow......

Jason
