I remember seeing a thred about a part from nappa that could take the place of the Catalytic converter. Does anyone know what I'm talking about.

 

Thats a resinator your seeing before the mufler. You can leave it on or cut it off. Some folks dont like the tone with it removed while the hard cores like it. ;D

What year truck do you have? The 94-98.5 come with a cat on them. You can get a test pipe through your Dodge dealer, The part# is 52019170ab. I replaced mine with one and love it. My truck actually smokes less, but then again my cat was plugged up pretty good.
