Question Can't identify this

HI all,
first post here and can't believe all the great advise.

I have a ?? about my brothers 98 4x4. On the rear axle drivers side there is a linkage that goes down near the wheel hub, what is that thing? Does it adjust braking when there is a load on the truck??

BTW, I will be picking up my 99 4x4 ctd on the 5th and that is when the real questions are gonna start

From what you described I would say yes. Take a look and see if it goes up to the proportioning valve for the rear brakes.

Thats what it is and some guys have made thier own adjustable ones to make the truck stop a bit better, do a search on them and you will find it. Welcome aboard to the best Dodge site on the internet. Goodluck,,Rick
