Okay - my take...I have 332k on a 2wd, stock, 5-speed, 12 valve truck. It;s worth a fair bit to me, as I know what I've done with it over the past six years, and all the $$$$ I've put into it with ball joints, steering box, radiator, fuel lines, etc. But it's not worth more than I bought it for (wouldn't that be nice...)

Now, if this truck was stock it would be worth perhaps as much as 8k, but with modifications, I would immediatly drop my bid to under 6k as these mods indicate something else that has happened with the truck - meaning it's been RUN HARD. People don't add fuel system upgrades (generally speaking) to drive gently down a rural road looking at the corn crop.

I would look for a lower-mileage, stock truck that has had all the common issues taken care of and comes with the records to prove it.

I paid $9000 for mine with 270k miles, bone stock and a new VP44. I've had it almost 2 years and I've replaced the APPS and brakes and some other very small items. Front end is very solid, but the trans is starting to let go, but only after I added some hp.

I could not spend over 10k and I wanted a quad cab, and everything else I saw in that price range was really rough looking. Mine seemed to be very well cared for. The drivers seat still doesn't have any tears in it. It had no gn or 5th wheel hitch. Overall, I've been happy with the purchase. I've read hundreds of posts on this site with trucks with less than 1/2 the miles having all kinds of problems. You never know what's going to happen.

If you check it out real good I wouldn't be too afraid of it, but I agree with the others that the price is still a little steep with that kind of milage. I'd give maybe 9k for it if it was in real good shape.

if hes not trading that truck in let him try and sell it for a year then and i would imagine "then" he'll be desperate when anybody sees that kind of mileage theylll turn in walk away. he will struggle majorly to sell that truck for normal mileage price
2 years ago i bought mine for 11000
