Bug Deflectors

What have you used for a bug delector on a 2nd gen,,,,01` Dodge?
Tried a WeatherGuard,AVS,and LUND Stainless this week,NONE fit!
The plastic,WeatherGuard,and AVS are warped IDENTICALLY on the drivers side {must come from the same manufacturer}
The LUND S/S "Dominator" ain`t even close to fitting. Called them and complained I said "I would be embarassed to put my name on something with this poor of quality and fit".
Other options?

I tried the Lund and didn't like it either.
Went with the three piece OEM from the dealer, fits perfect, looks good and it works.

Do the bug deflectors really make a difference?

Both my trucks were used and both came with deflectors. Id like to take them off because I rally dont like the look, but with the way they were installed the paint is worn down to bare metal.

I've got the dealer installed three peice. It goes between the grille and hood and the sides connect to the headlight frame and with that hard velcro type squares on the fenders. I didn't really like the look of it but never took it off and now I don't really notice it.

Supposedly you are keeping your windshield cleaner by using it but I always seem to get plenty of bugs on the glass regardless.

I had a Lund on my Chevy and it fit really well and didn't take any external fastening, I thought they were supoosed to be the nicest ones.

It doesn't work well anyways since our trucks sit so high that little guard does very little to get all the bugs.

I was riding passenger in my truck headed towards the sun though an extremely buggy area and could see the bugs coming and how the air current from the deflector made them shoot almost straight up and miss the windshield.
I was impressed.
Enough still hit that you had to use the windshield washer to rinse the bloody mess off but it could have been much worse.

What I like even more about the defectors is that they protect the leading edge of your hood and fenders from the paint being sandblasted off.
In my parts they sand the roads for winter traction, I've seen it take the paint off the front end of a brand new vehicle down to bare metal in just a couple of years.

I think GTO makes a set of 3 piece one, I got them from AA auto parts I know others sell them, not very expensive, the hood one sandwhichs between the grill and the hood, stays put pretty well, and the ones over the headlights, you pop out a plastic piece that holds the rubber seal on and replace it with a supplied little screw that holds them t the truck .

no problems yet
