brake problems / front end

The brake pedal went farther than normal a couple of times in the last few days. I thought it was just from driving through the foot of snow. Today on the way to work, it started making rubbing noises, even when off the brakes. Rotor was a little warm, and I could smell burned brake pad. Tried to limp it home, rubbing got worse, brake light and abs light came on, and truck occassionally jerks to the side. I have had a stuck caliper before, but only got the heat and smell. I'm guessing pad/caliper problem, but what would trigger the abs and brake lights? Fluid looks full.
thanks for any help.

update: Jacked up front end, can move tire up/down and side/side alot. Removed wheel, can move lugs around, rotors move same, and the yoke to universal joint behind rotor all move together. The caliper stays in place, and the rotor moves back and forth inside it, it has alot of room now that I've worn through the pads. What would loosen to allow this. The big nut in front with cotter pin is tight. The 4 bolts from the back, and all other fasteners I can find are rusted in place tightly. Did I snap an axle shaft if I can move that u-joint in and out?

That would have to be your front wheel bearing that has disintegrated. Your ABS light is on because the distance between the sensor and tone-wheel is no longer constant.

Thanks for answering,
I have a good shop nearby, so I'll be getting it towed there tomorrow. This is going beyond my abilities, but I wanted to at least have an idea what failed. I knew I was out of luck when I saw everything moving, and the damage it did to the brakes.
