Brake Line Replacement

Brake Line Replacement
I'm in the process of replacing the brake line on the drivers side in between the tank and the rail. My questions are: can I just cut the line and slide it out and slide the new line inbetween the tanks without having to drop the tank? Also if I do have to drop the tank will there be enough play in the hard fuel lines to lower the tank without breaking them loose? Thanks.

Id drain the tank with a pump and drop it with the help of a motorcycle lift jack.
You will need to disconnect the fittings on the fuel pickup assy and remove the fuel fill and breather hose.
Its a good time to upgrade your metal fuel lines to good quality diesel fuel hose. Id pick up 12ft of brake line, a double flaring tool, a mini pipe cutter and a few spare fittings, Also get some new rear wheel cyls since the bleed screws will snap off. A MAPP torch and some PB blast may be helpful too.
