Brake Light, Turn Signal Problem- Help!

The brake, tail, and reverse lights on my truck are giving me all sorts of fits. First off when I use my left turn signal the reverse lights flash with it, this happens with the headlights/tail lights off or on. With the headlights/tail lights off both brake lights work but the left one is much dimmer than the right and the reverse lights come on. With the headlights/tail lights on only the right brake light works and the reverse lights come on very dim. Both tail lights work but again the left is dimmer than the right. I've checked all the bulbs, connections, and wires the best I could while laying on my back in the yard underneath it and it all looks ok from what I can tell. Could there be a short or grounded wire in my trailer light harness or a bad connection somewhere else? As I've said on before on here, electrical stuff is definitely not my strong point, so any thoughts or advice you guys have is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Josh

I had a similiar problem last year, turned out it was the wiring harness going to my trailor hitch. Not sure what exactly it was but I know it was the wiring. a good friend of mine fixed it one night at the race track while I was racing. I also have had problems withthe trailor plug-in getting wet since the cap got broke off. It makes my brake controler do stupid things.

check all of your grounds, sounds to me like that would be the problem or you could have a short or broken wire

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Check grounds for resistance. The ground for rear is at left fender side shield. In front of battery, down low. Unfortunatelly there are several splices to this wire from rear. Look at sockets first and then damaged wires at rear harness. Mice, squirrels, dogs and brush in fields frequentlly disrupt things undernesath.
