brake issues

Ive got a few issues with my brakes...

#1 Got a real spongy/soft pedal 3/4way down till a rock hard last 1/4 of the peadal. Brake/Abs lights on.

Ive checked all the vac lines/connections and fixed anything I thought might be causing it on the vac lines. (plugged old vac lines for cad before posi lock)

Fluid level is full no fluid leaks anywhere

any idea's
master cylinder???
brake booster????

Could the rubber brake lines going onto your calibers be going soft? Or air in the trapped somewhere?

Good advice, i put a pass side line on 2years ago or so when I thought It was leaking, the driver side is original as far as I know. Guess I can bleed it out then.

These brakes are really drivng me crazy, I have checked all the vac lines on the truck, I pluged the ones where my old cad lines were and found 1line going to the ps pump had a small hole rubbed in it. Now the lights are coming on then going back off instead of on all the time however the brakes still suck.

This all started after I put new read drum self adjusters on and had real great brakes for about a week and then went to this.

My symptoms sound like it could be a number of things.....
Master cylinder
Brake Booster diaphram
Dump Valve (never even heard of this)
Wheel cylinders
Calipers
Brake lines
ABS sensors
and the list keeps going lol how in the world am I supposed to determine the problem other than start small and work up...

#1 Check was fluid/leaks
#2 Check was vac lines
#3 Will be drivers line and bleed
#4 ??????
#5 ??????
#6 Either burn it to the ground or mechanic will love me

Something to look for is your rear brake adjustment, if they are loose they will act just like you described...this is also just about he easiest place to start.
