1997 2500 4x4 standard, nearing 400k miles. Lots of issues, working my way through them. Right now, the brake controller isn't working. I need it, bad. But here in Hawaii, parts are of limited availability. All I can find locally are brake controllers with incompatible plugs. I bought one at Napa, spliced it into the original harness, and it POPed when I plugged it in, and started smoking. My toddler was examining it when I plugged it in, and it scared the stuffing out of him. What I need is a brake controller with a female plug, inline 4-prong. Can't get it here on island.

 

I cant help you, but you might try posting this on the Towing and Hauling forum..... Those guys can probably lay one right on you.

Napa should be able to order a harness if they don't have one in stock for the brake controllers they sell that plug into the factory 4 prong plug and into the brake controller.
