I have an '01. remove the 2 torx screws, then pry/wiggle the light straight backwards, not out to the the sides. There are 2 plastic knurly studs, one top one bottom, that slip into a grabby socket. Just pry/pull straight backwards and it will slip out. If the grabby socket comes out too just stick them back in the hole. I put a rag in the groove to protect the paint and just pried it backwards with a wide screwdriver. Its a lot like the dash bezel...just when you think its going to break, it pops off.
