blend door motor on the bench can not get it to smoke
in the truck after turning up the heat almost on fire and smoke looks like it
is in side the housing but no smell on motor only from vents but can see the smoke comming from around motor housing

 

I thought the blend door was vacuum actuated.

Sounds like your fan resistor to me.....

Sorry. Not sure what the problem is, but sounds like the small electric motor in your pic is toast if its smoking.
