battery problem

I had some bad corrosion on my battery post, and was in a bind to get the truck started, so i used a file on it to get the corrosion off and get a good connection. In the process of the filing, i have reduced the diameter of the post a little to much for the clamp to tighten. I have to have the wife crank it while i jiggle it around. Anyway, is there and way to rig something up so i dont neeed to do this? do they make a way to get the diameter back? Any ideas would be great.
