The idea behind bleeding is to open up the fuel system at strategic points beyond your lift pump so that you can allow air out and replace it with fuel by running the lift pump. Once you see fuel at each location, you can close that part of the fuel system up and move further on down the line. Once you get past the injection pump, you need to actually be trying to start the engine so that the injection pump will be pressurizing the lines.

You need to crack the bleeder before the pump and run your lift pump(key in the on position, I think that you have to bump the starter if I remember correctly). Once you have fuel there, you need to crack your injector lines and try to start the engine. To crack the injector lines, loosen the nuts that connect the injector lines to the injector about a turn. While cranking, watch to see whether fuel is coming out here. Once it is, you can tighten the nuts back down and the engine should start after not too much more cranking but it will run rough for a few minutes(air getting out).

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Keep your hands away from any high pressure spray while bleeding HP lines.
Don't overtighten nut on tube.

Adding to DartMouth I don't like to start the engine, initially to fill and vent the VP44. I just use the LP and hand crank the engine over a half turn at a time (bumping the starter just a bit at a time also works). Once I see fuel at all six injectors with no bubbles then I will try a start.

If you have a kill switch or pull the fuel relay you can crank the engine with out starting it as well. Just doing 1 2 4 injectors is generally good enough to get it started. But if you did an injector / VP44 change out then you should most likely do them all.
