bed sizes 2001-04

I have a 2001 2500 ext cab, short bed, I found a guy w/2004 fiberglass cover off his 2500, are the beds different on top where the cover will fit ?

The top edges, measured center to center (about the middle of the top edges).
04 model 70" wide, 77" long.
01 model 66" wide, 78" long.
