Well my batteries are leaking now so its time to replace them. Im curious which brand and size batteries you have had good luck with on these CTDs?

You don't have to worry about the cold in TX like in MT. Running NAPA Orbital red tops

Spend the extra money and get gel cell or gel mat batteries.
No leaking or corrosion, they are truly maintenance free.
I like Optima but have been using the Napa Orbital recently. They seem to be just as good except that the warranty is shorter than Optima.

I got the Interstate Workaholics. I have used them for about 5 months with no problems. Apparently, the ones I got are the commercial version with heavy plates that are made for a lot of vibration.

I had Napa batteries before I got the Interstates. They puked on me after a little more than a year.

I've had good luck with Diehard Platinum, which I believe are similar technology as the optimas, just not the round design.

IMHO if you are determined to stick with a lead acid type battery stick the the OEM's. If you go with anything else you are running the risk of acid leakage out of the battery caps causing big problems. I know this from first hand experience I wound up replacing all of my battery cables and clamps and damaged the harness located under the battery tray. I bought a set of Optima red tops and have never looked back. No more lead acid batteries for me!
