Which Ball Joints??
Hi folks! I'm pretty new to the Dodge scene and I have a question. I bought a '00 2500 4x4 and I need to rebuild the front end (real loose and tires wearing bad on the inside). When I went to the parts store to get upper ball joints they have a bunch of options from standard up to 1 1/2 degrees camber adjustment. I want to do the work myself and then have a shop align it, any suggestions on which ball joint to get or ....?? Thanks in advance!!
Get the best you can afford, MOOG's top line one is what I have and they are holding strong after about 50 K miles.
Make sure you replace the trac bar and tie rod ends also, or you will be replacing the ball joints again.....

Thats my plan, I still have the orig. on there @ 210k so I don,t really want to do this too many times. I guess what I needed to know was do you have a suggestion on which camber adj. ones to get or should I just get the standard one or ...?
I would happily get Moogs on any truck 1999 or older. On anything newer, the style of ball joint was changed, and there have been a lot of complaints on the Moogs being too tight and causing steering problems. I have personally witnessed this on a couple of trucks, as well as driving a couple more that reacted well with the Moogs. I have never tried XRF joints, but I would consider them if I was replacing joints on a truck today.
I would personally stay away from the offset ball joints unless I had a camber problem I was specifically trying to compensate for. The reason for this is that these joints have no default (zero) position and cannot be installed to the same position your caster and camber are in presently.
