Average paint job cost?

nebraska winters sure are harsh on things. seems like everytime i wash my truck to get the salties off i find more rust spots from rock chips and what not. just curious as to what the average cost is when it comes to repainting a whole pickup?

i know here in texas at our shop they start at 3,500. But if you have rock chips that show rust they have to sand those all the way out. So your prolly looking at around 4-6 grand at a normal body shop. You might be able to find a small shop that will do it cheaper!

I had just my cab done, $2400 then put a $1200 flatbed on.

Then I sold my old bed for $400.

A quality primer and paint is going to run at least $300 not including the labor of prep sanding, tapeing, and painting.

My 94 had a bad case of the origional paint peeling off but no rust anywhere on it. The shop that did the work striped it right down to bare metal, urathane primer and base coat-clear coat. Very nice job and the price was $5700.00....Another shop was going to do it for $3200.00 but was going to use a grinder to take the paint off then a filler type primer to fill in the scratches and use a urathane paint to finish. Didnt go there. So I guess it all depends how good a job you want and how long you expect to keep your truck......
