Auto dimming rear view question
While I am unsure of your exact problem my mirror quit functioning and it turned out to be the switch in the mirror itself. It wouldnt stay on or click on. Not sure how to put it.
In any case I thought it was odd that the switch broke as I dont think I ever used the switch. I just kept it on auto dim all the time.
One day I was driving down the road and some less than courteous driver was behind me with his brights on. So on a whim I reached up and held the button on just to see what would happen. Well it started dimming to my suprise. So I pulled over played with it a bit and couldnt get it to stay on. So I found a toothpick laying around in the truck broke it into smaller pieces and wedged a piece up between the switch and the housing and walla it has held the switch on for over a year now and works just fine.
