My truck was built 7 years ago this month and it has 40,000 miles on it. I drive now @ about 10,000 miles a year so 460,000 more miles @ 10,000/year? I think thats 46 years, I'm 44 so that will make me 90. I don't think I will be able to get my leg up that high to get my a@% in the front seat. 1,000,000 miles I might be setting a record but not for miles but age = 140 years old!!

I know of a few that are over 1 million around home. One 91 3500 DRW flatbed 5 spd. 1.4 million last time I drove it and it still runs great.

At this point I don't really care about how many miles it can go. It's more about how many YEARS it can go. Like stated above, it would take forever for me to get to 500k miles with how much I drive it. But if I can still turn the key and start the engine in 15 years, that's a good deal to me.

Propane is actually very good for an engine. It burns exceptionally clean, all but eliminates fuel dilution and drastically reduces sooting of the oil.

Well, mine has 234K on it (220 when I bought it at the beginning of the year). Going strong as ever, and I plan on keeping it a LONG time! I'm 22 now, and I'd love to be still driving it when I'm in my 30s and beyond!

I have 314,000 on my 1999, still on the original VP.
I plan on driving her as long as the cab holds up.

Now for the bad.
820000 mi.
I was stuned when he told me.
According to the person selling it there has been no magor engine work done and runs fine.
He said that the owner has a letter from Dodge stateing that they want the motor back at 1000000 mi. (he didnt say if they were giving him a new one) any body ever here of such a thing. I am kinda thiking about buying it, especialy if I know a new(rebuilt?) free motor is in its future. Wada think

Thats funny.

A friend of the family had an OLD first gen. By old I mean run down. It was a ranch truck. It had rust on just about every inch of it. The roof line was so rusty it looked like it was gonna fly off driving down the road. Anyhow, I went to talk to him at his job site and I didnt see his truck in the parking lot. I saw him inside and asked him about it and he said he had sold it and gotten a newer, used, CTD dually.
I then asked him why he got rid of it....engine bad?
He said, "Nah, it only had 529,000 and it didnt even burn oil yet."

I was shocked.
I was then disappointed when he said he sold it for $1500!
That would have been a nice 5-spd for my truck and an extra motor and axels.
Oh well.

We could use more success stories like this on this board.

Before you get rid of it you should replace the VP and donate the old one to a Ripley's believe it or not museum

I'm about to turn 250.000mi. Other than typical parts that wear out over time and clutch/5th gear. I just got back from a 2600 mile run in 3 days, pulling 17K lbs+++, and just the trailer on the way back. Runs great. 500k.....no problem.

I will roll 260K this week. She has been great since I bought her at 220K two years ago. Broken a few things but it has put up with alot so I cant complain. Now if the dash would quit falling apart. I really need to look into making a custom metal one before the factory one is laying in my feet!

I say that with everyone I get. I traded an 02 duramax 99000 miles an 04 cummins at 120000 miles, Now the 6.7 has almost 13000 miles and I plan on keeping this one. I already have more in it in aftermarket than the other two combined. I think once the aftermarket figures out the emissions stuff this will be the hotrod of the future.
