243, Get that front end aligned by a good shop. It can drive nice. I did mine and it needed some change to the right side camber and toe in set.
Drives nice, almost as good as a 4x2.

I just bought my truck today.....

Its a 1997 2500 SLT 4x4 Loaded in mint condition (for age) has 276k, I have a receipt for every single oilchange done 3-8kmile intervals from the local dodge dealer. ITs on its second tranny, put in at 210k. If i didn't tell you I could pass the truck off as having about 80-100k. Leather is even in great shape.

At 63 years old I have no plans to buy a new truck, so this one is it. Before the end of the year I will be over 300,000 of course not on the original engine. I am hoping for some good mileage from this one but think I will put bearing in it (rods) at about 200,000. This is going by the condition of the original motor. They were the only parts showing wear at about 200. I do run heavy though, and run the crap out of it.

The truck has 85k+ on it now, I average 30k a year, and I have an 11 month old daughter. I told the wife, this truck will be Michelle's ( my daughter) first vehicle. Provided Dodge comes out with a true 4 door crew cab with the 2nd gen body style at that time. If not, then I will keep this one, and get her another one. No offense to the 3rd generation owners, but I don't care for the rounded off, laid back body style, with the sleeping sounding diesel.

I'm at 282,700 right now, plan to go at least to 500k!

Just called about a '94 2wd 5-spd in Ohio for $5000; it has 454,000 on it, one owner. Check traderonline.com if interested.

Thumbs up 354,155 miles

I fully expect to run 500k on this truck I picked up a couple months ago. I recently installed the DSS steering stabilizer and shocks and the front end on this thing is excellent. Truck feels great and motor runs nice.

I had to pull the head to replace the gasket but all looked great in there. Not even close to showing any ridge in the cylinders, hone marks to the top of the bores. Soon after I bought it I did a blowby volume test on it and it matched Cummins' specs for newer engines.

The head looked great, had it decked, no wear on the valve stems and very little on the seats. I did some porting and had a comp valve job done

Wink

Its going to take 500k to get the title back from the bank!!

I hope to pass this pickup on to my son, and he is 2. I doubt my daughter, who is 9, will want it, but it she does it is all hers and I will go buy another one!

A new truck would be nice, but the current one has a HUGE plus. It's paid for. Guess I'll just run the thing until it falls apart around my hind end.

360,000+ miles on my 97....

Here is a truck with 874,000+ miles for sale. Thinking about buying it just to have a million mile truck and seeing if that rumor is true that if you hit a million miles dodge will give you a new truck

A friend of mine was really impressed with my 2004.5 diesel when we pulled his stock trailer with our horse in it. He said you cant even tell it is there, while his old Chev strains and groans. So we went looking for a used diesel for him yesterday, found a 97, auto, ext cab Laramie SXT, long bed Cummins for $7500 after some negotiating. At one of the lots we saw what looked like a 96 or 97 (lot was closed) with 810 thousand miles on the odometer! He is picking his 97 up first thing Monday morning.
