Any 2nd gen. guys with auto trans, 3.54s, and 35" tires?

Didn't know if anyone was running around with 3.54 gears, an automatic, and 315s? I'm running 285s currently and the RPMs work out pretty decent at highway speed. I'd like to install a leveling kit and 315s, but i'm concerned about how it would effect fuel mileage and towing.

Any of you that have ran them, did you regret going with a 315?

I didn't like that combo much. Onramps were way below where the turbo lit. Once I got up on the road it was great. I switched to 4.10's, since I do like the look of 35's.

35's + 3.54 + 2.5" leveling kit = power, economy and good looks. I was also running 285's and they were good. But I also like the look of 35's. With this current setup I'm getting 14 to 15 mpg while towing. Daily empty driving with my XZT+ on timimg/fuel setting I get 14.8 to 16.6 mpg. On timing only setting 17 mpg and better.

I may give the 315s a whirl after I finish my HG installation and settle on which injectors I want.

We're in the process of buying a new gooseneck too, and I'm a little leary of how it will hook up and sit with the truck on 35s.

I have the tires and gears, but the tranny is a manual and I have a 4 inch lift. I wish I had a leveling kit instead because I think the lift is killing my mileage. I get 16.8-17.4 highway cruising at 1800 rpm, ~70 mph. My tires are very aggressive too, and that does not help. An all terrain tread would be better, as well as getting it down out of the wind.

Before my 3500 CTD I had a 1500 gasser w. a 5" suspension and 3" body lift and 36/14.5/16 Parnelli jones "dirt grip" tires. On the 1/2 ton gasser(automatic trans & 3.55 gears) the tires killed fuel mileage(about 9.5 mpg.) and with the Dana 44 front axle it also went through hub bearings and u joints. Since you have a 2500 the Dana 60 should be ok. My trans started slipping after about 80,000 with the big tires, but the truck had about 295,000 on it. I would definately recommend the "dirt grip" tires. They had good traction off road, looked awesome and lasted extremely long(about 80,000 mi.) They were the only set of mud tires that I ever bought for that truck.

The only thing I regret is not getting 4.56s as well. But I'm not seeing near as good of milage as lotero though... 14.5 to 15 mpg generally for in-town, I can get **** near 16 mpg out of her doing 55-60 mph, but anything over that its back down to 14-15 mpg.

Yup

I have the same combo.
Hummer H2 wheels and BFG AT's
I have no problem lighting the turbo.
The 35's help keep the tires from going up in smoke. (most of the time).
