aftermarket guage help?

So I'm getting ready to order some guages for my truck, my question is:
What limits should I get in regards to the pyro (1600* vs 2000*)?
Boost (30 psi or 60 psi)?

Also, do I need a Vacuum/boost or does a diesel just need a boost guage?

Thanx alot guys!

My pyro goes to 1500* and the boost goes to 40 psi. Anything around 1500* for the pyro is good, especially since you don't want see temps that high anyways. If I remember correctly, aluminum starts to melt around 1250* if you run it that hot for too long. The boost range is more a choice of what you have planned for the future. In my case, my turbo has never pushed boost past 35 psi. Actually, the highest I've seen it go is 33 psi. So, since I wanted to see both the measurement and the needle move, I went with 40 psi. Now, if you have plans on modifying your engine to handle anything above 50 psi, then a 60 psi gauge may be for you. I figured that if I ever need something to read above 40 psi, then I would have already dumped a lot of money into the engine and the cost of a boost gauge is nothing in comparison. For what it's worth, I ordered ISSPRO gauges through Dieselmanor.com. They had nice combos at good prices. Mine was combo #4. I was real happy with their service. So much so, I still order stuff throught them.

1500-1600 is plenty for the Pyro gauge as 1250 is the highest I'd ever run for long periods. My boost gauge also reads 40psi max, I don't plan on upgrading the turbocharger, and the stock one's are best kept at 35 and below. If your planning on major mods (now or later) including a better turbo then get one with a 60psi range.

And don't buy a vacuum/boost gauge. Diesels don't have manifold vacuum.
