Aftermarket Front Bumper...
I am looking for a good heavy duty front bumper. I don't want to spend over a thousand dollars for it though. A year or two back I remember finding a guy that made one out of 1/8" steel that was just perfect for what I wanted and he only charged around $500 for them if I remember right. He talked about how he or someone he built one for used them on a 2500 in a mine to push all kinds of things around. Sorry can't remember any more about it. Anyone have any ideas or know where I might find something similar?
If I wanted to try building one are there any guides anyone has available?

I was in tractor supply the other day and noticed they have diamond plate aluminum tandem trailer fenders that look like they would make a nice front bumper if you made some brackets.

I've had one of these front end replacements for 5 years. I've hit a couple deer without any problems. Seems like it was around $700, but that was 5 years ago. As for building your own, there are some good threads here on some home-made grill guards, do a search.
