AC works by it's self

The function swich can be in the off position and while going down the road the AC and fan will come on and go off at random. I took the swiches out and checked the plugs and wireing nothing loose.I took the swiches apart and checked all conections, all good. Checked vacum source and lines but that only works the dash doors. It's ok to leave the ac on right now but I don't no about the winter. I priced the swiches at a whopping 130 $ a little steap for trial and error. This thing is driving me insane any thoughts

Is the A/C compressor actually kicking in? Or is it just the fan that is coming on?

If it's just the fan, you might have a short elsewhere in the wiring that is powering the fan.

The AC control may be fed through the BCM, like everything else inside the cab, so you could have a computer problem going on here. You may need to find a good mechanic that has the knowledge and equipment to troubleshoot this problem. The only ones with the equipment may be the dealer though.

Do you by chance have the selector on defroster? That will cycle the ac.

My vent/floor mode also runs the ac on my 02 even though it doesn't have the snow flake indicating ac. Common I'm told.

Sorry, reread your post and your even in the off position.
