Go to the back side of the power steering pump were the vacuum pump is and follow the line up to the firewall. When I had my 2000 3500 the one that would disable the selection process and default to defrost was the one with the red, could have been black, "Y" in the line on the drivers side of the firewall.

I bought a new compressor, dryer and orfice thing. I also bought 8oz of the pag100 oil that it says, and some refrigerant. Where do I put the oil? do I dump it into the compressor before bolting it on or what? Also is it absolutely necessary to pull it into a vacuum before charging it?
