AC question

For the last year or so I have noticed a problem with my AC. When I sit for a while, or just start my truck and dont get moving right away, my AC will slowly start blowing warmer and more humid. As soon as I get going, the longer I go the colder it gets. BUUUUT if it isnt a real hot day, it isnt a problem, only hot days. Anyone an AC expert that can tell me right where to look???

hi
i have had the same exact problem with my 98 .

so today i added 1 13oz can of 134a artic freeze < blue can at wall mart >

and that seamed to solve the problem ?

went to town very hot / humid and only needed to run ac on lowest fan speed and temp at just below where red heat dots stoped ?

seamed ok but i did not put the gages on it as i had them on wifes mini van charging it at the same time .

did stick in thermometer at one point and it droped to 38 deg .
so will see how it works for a few days , but suppose to be cooler here for next few days ?
if you havent added any refrigent for 2+ years it could prob use 1 can as it does get away after time .

sounds low just guessing, its not that your not moving its that your not cooling the air through the condensor.

You may be a little low on freon. But also remember when you are not moving you do not have air flow across the condenser (the one in front of the radiator) which means your a/c systemis not going to function properly.

I understand that to an extent, but it should still get enough air flow to cool. This things gets pretty nasty. I will service it and see where im out. Let you know the results soon.

if your low the pressures will be high with no air flow the pressure will be higher. see what it does if you shoot some water on the condensor while its running should cool down and bring the pressurs down.
