I have read and searched the common issues here. I think my issue is pretty cut and dry. My rig is a 2000 2wd sport. Last summer when I started the truck with the AC on I would hear and feel a distinctive thump. At the end of summer the "thump" disappeared, and so did my AC. But being end of summer I really paid it no attention. I went deployed for 3 months, forgetting my problems. Now on return home, and wanting my AC, it isn't there, and the thump is gone. The freon system has pressure, but the clutch on the compressor is not engaging. Compressor is bad, correct?

I have also been getting the puddle in the passenger side floorboard, but it is water. Searching for AC issues, I stumbled into this being a bit common. It only does it when it rains. I'll be looking at the seal on th e3rd brake light today, as someone mentioned that being just 1 cause.

 

unplug the AC press sensor short out the sensor connection this should engage the compressor if it still works. If it is locked up the belts will slip and burn. so be careful.
