Why would you want the ABS unhooked? If you lock the wheels you lose stopping power.

I don't think there is any way to disconnect the ABS without lighting the ABS light.
I don't like the Dodge 4 wheel ABS system in the second generation trucks and had thought about bypassing the system before.
I think it is more of a hazard than a help in a panic braking situation.
Is that why you want to unhook it?

just a question on this topic, i was wondering if the ABS would prevent a truck from doing a break stand, my truck backs off as soon as the tires break loose, and it wont do one unless i really get on it and the tires are a little wet. I think its just my TC dieing, it just feels like i have traction control.
and where can i unhook the abs under the hood?

Fury, you are experiencing "torque management" found only on 01-02 auto trans trucks. It supposedly stops you from braking stuff.

The short answer to Fury and anyone else is NO. Need12v hit the nail on the head.

I would say the Dodge ABS system is VERY shady. My front locks before my back because of the weak drums, but since I've only got RWAL I'm effectively driving with no ABS. I've got larger wheel cylinders which may help this issue, but who knows.

If it were me and I didn't want ABS I'd disconnect it and throw electrical tape over the light.

Unpluging the abs computer will disable the lights. The computer is behind the cover in front of your 4WD lever.

the reason i wanted to unhook it is the fact that on snow pack roads it shoot you right on throught an intersection i'd rather put it in the ditch due to a skid that t bone someone

You are correct. These monsters are pretty good at playing monster truck with the rice-grinder hybrid's-------I'm an expert in this department. Glad I have good insurance.........I barely got a scratch and the prius was on fire from the shorted/smashed batteries

You may have unpluged the wrong computer. In my 96, it's directly behind the plastic cover on top of the hump.
