ABS not working in '95

I know a guy with a '95 12v 5 speed and he was just telling me that his ABS light is on and the back tires are easy to lock up. So he thinks his ABS isnt working right or at all. He doesnt know what to do and is probably going to take it to Les Schwab or someplace like that to have them ripe him off. So I said "hey I know this web site that might help", and thought if any of you might know what the problem could be. I dont know much about the 1st Gens so I couldnt help much. The only thing he did say to me is, when my injector pump quits I'm going to go and get some high performance stuff, blah blah. You know how the conversations go, but I said I dont think your injection pump will ever fail, because I thought I read that they are pretty much bullet proof on the 12v.

Opps. I thought 1st gen was 12v and 24v was 2nd gen. Maybe the administrator could move the topic to the correct location?
