ABS/Brake light on fixed

Just an FYI, my 96 has had those two lights on for three years. Finally did some poking around and found a vacuum line broken to the ABS "diaphragm" on the drivers fender. $ 20 at a junkyard and no more lights. BTW this is a diesel only part, I must have looked at 50 trucks before I figured that out.

96 and older with Vacuum booster brakes are the only ones that have that sensor.

Is this the diaphragm on the inner fender near the firewall on the drivers side? I think the Cruise diaphragm is near the front on the same side- under the battery IIRC...

My state can;t fail you on inspection for lit ABS light, but they can for the hard brake light... hate this dual light system. Had the bulbs out of the dash for 3 years and counting.

Yes, right next to the fuse box

That part is actually the switch that turns the light on if it senses low vacuum. Kinda ironic that it would be causing the fault.
