I just got my 99 QC picked up this weekend. The only issue I see so far is that the trip odometer in the overhead console always reads 0.0 . Is there some way to reset this or do I just have a bad problem and need to ignore it?

I just got my truck 2 weeks ago 99 CTD and my trip counter is doing the same thing.

 

Thought it was the conversion issue - '99 body on '02 truck. Everything else works great just 0.0 on trip computer odo.

 

I just wish someone had an idea how to fix it

Well mine is the same. Thats 3 people with 99's that dont work. Does anyone have a 99 that has the trip odometer up there work???

Mine won't reset (ODO) - reads 00

 

Mine works fine. I use it all the time to watch oil change mileage. Have you tried resetting it by holding both buttons in 3-5 seconds?

 

I have tried reseting mine and it does reset everything but that darn counter

 

I also tried the reset. It resets the hour meter fuel milage and all but not the odometer

Does anything else not work, like the speedometer or the odometer in the dash? Any lights on, like the ABS light? I looked through the FSM for 2002, and there's no reset procedure for the odometer on the overhead console other than pushing both buttons to zero it out. Unless there's a sensor problem or a wiring problem, there doesn't appear to be any way to fix it short of replacing it.

 

I wonder if you took the battery cables off and let it sit over night if it would reset everything.

 

Well mine will not reset and every other guage I have operates properly. In June I had the batteries disconnected for 24 hours while I replaced my evaporator and it still wont work. Its still reads 0.0

 

all of my other gauges are fine. The only thing is that the DTE is VERY optimistic!! which I hear is normal. Just kinda annoying and I figured I was not the only one with this problem, looks like I was right
