99 Dash replacement
99 Dash replacement
I know it's been beaten to death but I'm wondering if there has been anything new.
Has anyone found a GOOD replacement for the original jigsaw puzzle plastic dashboard. Last time I was at a dealer to have the Comp flashed I asked if I could buy an OEM replacement. The guy behind the counter laughed
I guess when they can get them there is a waiting list. Mine has some major holes and is held together by duct tape. THe rest of my truck is cherry and I hate the look of an add on rug dash. It reminds me of a bad toupee.

They are both black (seems like same product from different middlemen at a dif price)
I was hoping to get color matched. The ABS may not fade or crack but they don't say anything about the paint. I had nightmares about painted plastic bumpers

On the interior it should hold up. I had my dad shoot interior paint on my black gauge pod pillar replacement, and it matches perfectly and I have not given it another though since it was done in 2002.
No, I do not know exactly what is different about interior paint for a vehicle, but that's what I was told to get. It might be that it has a flexibility agent in it, like you have to use for plastic bumpers.
I would say it's worth a try. It should also have UV protection in it as well. Ask the automotive paint store about it.
