I am looking at a 98 quad-cab 12 valve 5 speed, i think that it is a nice truck but the guy is asking 11 thousand for it. He is saying that it just had all its u- joints and rear end bearings put in in the last thousand miles. Also the truck has nearly 300k miles, and has some rust. I don't think it is stock but he does nit know , also don't know about KDP or 5th gear nut. What do you think is a fair price?

Is their anything else I should look for before deciding?

 

$11K seems pretty steep. I would do a blue book, then offer based on that. No way to tell if the KDP or 5th gear nut has been done w/out removing some things and looking. The fact that the u joints and bearings have been done is a plus...but still pricey for an 11 year old truck w/ some rust and 300k miles. I would pay $11K, maybe, if it was in really good shape and had all the records and receipts...well, on second thought, still seems like a lot of money.

Seems way high.

Rust is hard to judge, it is probably worse than it looks, 300K is enough to seriously affect the price.
If nothing else is amiss, 7500-8000
