97 seat questions

I have searched the forums and found that the bottom seat cover can be removed for the 98 and up trucks.

Do they come off easily for the 94 to 97 trucks?
Mine is wore out like all the rest. I have found one from a wrecked truck but it is for a manual seat and mine is power. Can I use it if I make a hole for the power seat controls?

Probaby will be the same (manual vs auto seat) except fot the cut out for the switches. They are easily removed. Just some plastic hooks sewn into the fabric that stretches under the seat and hooks to some of the metal wires in the seat. If you look up there with a flashlight, you will see what I mean. You will have to remove a few trim screws around the switch and lever.

You can also switch the seat covers from passenger to drivers side. The only issue (if I recall correctly) is the cut out for the back rest lever, but that is easily taken care of with a razer blade. The front corners are slightly different meaning one side of the seat cover is more rounded at the door side corner, but if you switch them from passenger to drivers side, no one will ever notice.

So if you find a good passenger side, and need it for the drivers side, it will work just fine with minor mods. KD

One other thing, on my '97, the sides of the seats that face toward the center of the cab are "pleather" and the rest are cloth. This may be an issue if your concerned about the appearance. If not, then none of what I said matters.

I never knew about the plastic clips. I'm going to have to check mine. If the seat cover can be removed, then this may open up some possibilities for dealing with my worn seat cover, too. Thanks kd460 for the info on the clips.
