'96-'97 Club Cab with 6.5' Bed??????

Fairly new guy here..........be gentle.

Did Dodge make the Ram 2500 Club Cab with a 6.5' Bed (with the Cummins of course) in the 1996-1997 model years?

Just curious.

Thanks!!!

The shortbed wasn't offered on the 2500 until the 98 model year...

i personally cant stand having a short bed truck.......anything id need to haul that was long wouldnt fit, id rather have the long bed and know wheat im hauling is gonna fit....having the need for a long bed far out weighs the complications of having a 20 ft. long truck

They just want to haul 'cross bikes and dog food... :0)

If you want a truck thats a drag to drive in the city or anywhere that is tight drive a '97/or earlier F-250 xcab 4x4. The turn radius on those is about as bad as it gets. Going to the Dodge was like stepping into a sports car after that.
I never understood short beds on anything heavier than a 1500 myself, but to each his/her own.

I have a buddy with a 99 Ford with a short bed and a tonneau cover. He needed a big dry storage area, but he hauls with a trailer a lot. If it is something big he prefers hauling it on a trailer because it is easier to load/unload, and he can just drop the trailer and unload when it is convienent...

And I still don't like shortbeds, but I use my truck different than he does...

My sister has an '01 1500 SB and loves it, but they only use the box 5% of the time. Mostly for a slide in camper.

I personally couldn't live with a SB but I use my box probably 50% of the time.

Just depends on what use use it for it guess. Work/commercial 8ft is the way to go. Ocassional RV hauling and daily commuter, nothing wrong with a 6ft. I see lots of SB 2500s hauling 5th wheel RVs or big holiday trailers. Need the GVW for the trailer weight but don't really need the box.

The stupidiest thing I have ever seen was an '07 Dodge 3500 Dually 4X4 MEGA cab, with a 6.5ft box. Was the gayest thing I've seen in a while! I can see a SWB SRW 3500 but come on a DAULLY?!? Is nothing sacred?

I know there would be no purpose for it, but besides the U.S. Air Force aircraft tugs, did Dodge ever release to the public a short bed, standard cab 2500 CTD w/ 4x4?

Short beds definitely aren't for everyone. I wanted a short bed because I don't haul large things often enough to justify the day to day parking headaches.

Had a couple (2) for sales vehicles in montana 1997 CC shortbed 4x4 cummins both autos one with a square dash one with the newer dash both without the quad doors. also there is one here in santa rosa that comes into our lumber yard. white virgin 2wd 97 CC shortbed

So they exist but are rare

You could always buy a 98-2002 QC frame and box and swap your stuff on

barring a few other issues
