95 2500 with blinking headlights

is there any common problem that can cause this. i looked a bit in the other threads and didnt see what i was looking for, maybe didnt look far enough. the blinking is really intermittent, can never duplicate what makes it blink. i was thinking about setting up a light in difrent parts of the circuit and see were the short is happening. would really rather not do that but i will if i have to. o and it dose it on both high and low beam.

Do both sides blink together as well?

I think I'd check the connections on the back of the headlight switch first and maybe the multi-switch on the steering column as well. Once you get into the power distribution box under the hood, the circuits are split into left and right and you say both sides blink together which would point to power from the switch, I would think.

Got an 02 truck. What would make the lights go out when going from high beam to dim?
Doesn't do it every time just some of the time. When it does happen just have to click the high low beam switch a couple of times and I have my low's back.

That sounds like the multi-function switch on the steering column. I was having that problem as well until I replaced it. It's not expensive or hard to do. You will need a long torx wrench to take the cover off. Don't remember the size off hand; 15 or 20 I think.
