4WD suspension woes

I am still having an issue with a sudden pull to the left at speeds over 30 mph. So far the ball joints have been replaced and track bar replaced.

now I noticed I have movement at the 4 points circled whenever having someone turning the steering wheel while parked.

are these parts replaceable and if so are there after market upgrades over OEM?

new tie rod ends are available over the counter at any autoparts store.
you could try to repair them with lukes-link.(http://www.lukeslink.com/)
or could go with a custom crossover steering setup and replace everything.(http://thurenfabrication.com/crossover.html)

All of the parts are replaceable.

i would ask if this truck has any lift on the front end. The inverted 'Y' constantly changes front geometry and a simple leveling kit makes it worse.

If you are going to replace all the aprts, I would go the inverted 'T' system found on '98s. Much better toe control and should help reduce bump steer.

If you have a leveling kit, you may be experience bump steer through the steering to track bar relationship as well. I fixed a buddys with a aftermarket pitman arm.

Those are tie rod ends. You can get them at Autozone (cheapest I'd say) or go with a Lukes Link that's supposed to be a permanent fix. A little more time consuming to install but may be worth it. Both are about the same price (~$200 just for parts)

I just might be doing that. Dont know if I like those heim joints though. Ive heard conflicting opinions about whether they hold up well or not. If you hear anything definitive Id like to hear it too!

I personally do not like Heims. They seem to hold up okay, but definitetly transfer more shock and vibration.

What about doing a dodge steering stabilizer? I have very slight play in my front end an was wondering if this would be a good thing to do to stop any further wear till I get the cash saved up to do a complete front end job?

Probably wouldn;t hurt. But, I have heard of a few that the steering got worse. I guess the box moved the play to the top instead of the bottom.

I just know I want too have my steering I had when I bought the truck 3yrs ago and I think its going to take me coughing up the cash to rebuild the front end I know I am going to need new ball joints because it squeaks and hisses when turning and it wonders kind of bad but I am used to driving a older dodge with much worse off steering LOL

I have one already. it did help....but when you have movement in every single joint, it does not help that much

After speaking with Don, it was determined that his steering kit would not work. Clearance problems at the passenger side stock 16x8" rim.

he recommended xrfautoparts.com. his opinion much better than oem and moog

entire new drag link assembly and tie rod assembly $234 plus shipping.
