I put these on my truck last night:

So far so good, depending on how good of a deal you can get on a set of 2nd and 3rd gen mirrors, this is a lot cheaper and easier.

Thanks in advance
Yep just flat mirrors but they do include a rectangle shaped stick on convex mirror. I haven't got around to putting mine on yet, still trying to decide where to put it. I'm not really missing it though, the mirror is so huge(10"X10"). I imagine I'll need it once the camper goes on though.
I used to drive a big truck with flat mirrors, and would not care for a convex at all. For me, it offers no real advantage while the flat one allows to judge distance precisely. I think flats is the only way to back up accurately with a trailer, or otherwise if your rear window is covered. We backed up military trucks into a garage within 2" to each other in order to fit more into the garage and not leave them out in the Siberian cold in the winter, then got out sneaking through rolled down windows.

You spelled this out pretty plainly, but just to make sure that I'm clear... I can buy 3rd gen style flip out power/heated tow mirrors that will bolt up and all I have to do is clip the plug and figure out the proper wiring?
Sorry for the ignorance, but this has been SUCH a big pain to do in the past. You used to have to buy two sets of tow mirrors, take the head off one and put on the other, then blah blah blah... It was expensive and involved. But NOW, they make a retrofit mirror that I can buy from the parts counter?
Thanks,
Andy
You must buy two sets of mirrors, 1) 03-05 power heated tow mirror set, 2) manual tow mirrors for the 94-02 trucks. You must take both sets apart at the base which isn't an easy task getting the retaining clip up. To do the switch you need the bases for the 94-02 tow mirrors and put them onto the newer heated mirrors. You will have to make the wiring longer and put the 2nd generation mirror connector on it. If you have any questions just pm me.

Mine just have the regular parts store round convex stick ons in the corner, nice to see blind spots, and with such a huge mirror, you don't miss the space.
My ONLY complaint is that water droplets get on them pretty bad so changing lanes at night on the interstate can be tricky. I don't know if this is because my tires hang out a fling spray or if it's the design of the mirrors.

Right, That is the process that I'm familliar with, but your earlier post above:
I'd like to hear more about the updated part if it does in fact exist.
Sorry, If my post looks completely different than it did a minute ago... I just noticed that I was quoting you twice and not two different people. LOL.
