285/75/16 on a 2wd

On my '02 2wd I have some 285/75/16 Bridgestone tires. (They were on it when I bought the truck.)

The right front (passenger side) tire rubs the fender liner/splash shield at the back when you make a right-hand turn. The drivers side does not do this.

Anyone else have this problem?? Where one side rubs and the other doesn't??

Funny, I have the exact same problem, on the drivers side though

Nothing I can do except maybe a leveling spacer, or smaller tires...

Doesnt bother me much though, already clearanced itself already

Honestly... The rubbing doesn't bother me, but not knowing if maybe it's that way from a previous accident or something does.

Thanks,

K.

Do a carfax on your truck if you are not the original owner. Mine rubs on the drivers side and I was hit directly on the wheel in 2003. Truck was fixed but the wheel is closer to the inner fender on the drivers side than the otherside by 1 inch. (Alignment is good , and that is all that matters to me) . The other car was a total, and I drove away .

I ran a Carfax before I bought it, and it showed nothing. But I work at a GM dealership (parts dept.) and have seen where Carfax missed a few things in the past.

I think I'm just going to step back down to the oem 265/75/16 size.

My 97 had the same thing, same side as yours with 285's. I am back to the 245's and am happy. KD
