lol---Still in the Camera! Used the sheet metal shear at work last night to cut the shim stock for spacing around the hubs. I work a double shift tonight/tommorow, so probably won't have time to install the shims until Tuesday evening. Just finished all the wiring for my guages tonight. Everything running pretty sweet now!

Also, all of these for sale trucks are implying that the 01s and 02s had 100k mile warranties not 70k?
It's not the fact that I dont have enough gear ratio! 20 lo is so you can creep around in 2wd, say pulling a trailer, launching a boat, ect. and you dont have to have the front axle engaged fighting you. Not because my lowly 5spd cant do it.

And to add to another, you cant be in 4wd unless the 4wd dash light is on because the light only comes on when the vacumm unit connects the axle not when you shift into 4wd. So there is no way to mistake being in 4wd unless your just not paying attention.

Thoughts on 5spds vs 6spds?

Do these 2nd gen 24vs have different power bands than 3rd gen 24vs?

I am eyeing an auto / 3.55. I have to say that I did NOT like my auto / 3.73 and wanted 4.10 but could it be the power band is different ?

Being stupidly technical here but the 6 spd's first gear is really 5.63 not 5.61 as mentioned before. The 5 spd's first gear is 5.61.

No one mentioned tha 2002 can have the 505ft lb HO Motor and with 4:10's/6 speed, I believe it is rated about 1000lbs more than an 02. Give me that over rear cup holders, any day. Do we really care if the people in back have to hold their own freaking cups? For heavy hauling, the 6 speed and 4:10 get it done best. I have an SLT,& the side moldings run the length of the doors, whcih seem to be the main targets. I disconnected the hood light, will plug it in when I need it. I think the 2002 got it more right, especially the 3500. Mine has had no warrranty work. It also sems to have fender liners, perhaps the 2500 got cost cut.

Mine has disk in rear '' late 2nd gen '''' but i would ''prefer'' drum brakes ''''' i know i know why ''''' because ''someday'' im going to ''truck'' across country with this ''truck'''' for trucking ''drum'' is better '''' more contact surface '[''' thats my expierence '''' maybe runnin disk with ''cermatic'' pads would make it equivellent to ''drum brakes''' drums are for ''trucking'' serious ''wieght boys ''''

It seems like 01's have rear drums and 01.5+ has rear discs. I would really like discs unless there is an easy conversion. Basically, i hate drum brakes. Anything else i should look out for?
i know its late ''' depends on what your using it for ''' rear disk brakes are good for a '' grocery getter ''' but if your ever going to '' truck '' with it '' '' you need '' drum '' brakes '' thats if your '' ever '' planing on ''dropping off of a moutain pass out '' west '' with 20.000 l.b.s pushing you down that '' mountain ''''' ' more ''; contact '' surface' drum brakes''
