Are all 2001.5 trucks prewired for overhead console?
My truck doesn't have any overhead gauges and I found an 2001.5 truck being parted that does. I was wondering if these trucks were all prewired so that I would be able to swap the working console in? I know I have no temperature sensor in my grill but I haven't looked for a connector.
Any help would be great.
Thanks, Ken

Your wiring harness will not work. You need the one from the truck with the overhead gauges. On 01.5 trucks the temp sensor gets mounted on the hood near the front of the truck. You will need the sensor and wiring harness for it also. This harness plugs into the connector by the under hood light. I want to do this to my truck, but need the parts. From what I can tell , this option only came on our model trucks that had a security system. Not sure if that module is needed or not.
You probably are prewired for clearance lights, heated power mirrors and other common options but the Laramie Plus option got you the o/h console and related electronics to operate the compass, trip comp, and thermometer.
